A Quilcene man charged with murder may have his trial delayed until September.
Robert Stoner, 54, was originally slated to be tried this month for the October 2000 shooting death of Douglas McFarland of Quilcene.
But a Jefferson County Superior Court hearing on Friday could delay that trial.
A new trial date may be set for September, said Stoner’s attorney, Chuck Henry.
Henry said the requested postponement is the result of the need for additional defense investigation and balancing the schedules of parties involved in the trial.
“We’re probably talking sometime in September,” he said. “The scheduling of the new trial date has to balance everybody’s calendar.”
