QUILCENE — A Port Hadlock man remained in stable condition Wednesday at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center following a motorcycle crash late Tuesday.
Howard E. Forsyth, 29, was airlifted to the hospital after he apparently lost control of his motorcycle while southbound on U.S. Highway 101 near Mount Walker Viewpoint Road.
Forsyth remained in the intensive care unit Wednesday.
According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Glen Tyrrell, Forsyth crashed near milepost 299 at 7:37 p.m.
Tyrrell said Forsyth’s southbound 1980 Honda motorcycle crossed the northbound traffic lane and careened into a ditch.
“There were no skid marks on the road,” Tyrrell said Wednesday. “We don’t know why he drove off the road.”
Highway 101 was temporary closed to allow for Forsyth to be airlifted to Seattle.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, Tyrrell said.
