QUILCENE — The School Board refined its goals Tuesday, hoping to improve communication, education and planning.
Goals outlined by the School Board include improving and increasing vocational training, improving overall educational performance with an emphasis on mathematics, updating the district’s 6-year-old strategic plan and improving communication.
“I would like to improve student performance overall with an emphasis on math,” board member Vivien Kuehl said.
The members settled on using several tests as indicators of progress, but asked Superintendent Judi Mackey to provide quarterly reports on student performance.
They also directed Mackey to identify one employee to review former vocational training efforts as the first step toward identifying new or enhanced programs.
