LaPUSH — Charles “Chas” Woodruff is the new chairman of the Quileute Tribal Council.
The council reorganized Friday after an election Jan. 17.
Vote totals and others who ran for office were not available now, according to a statement from the tribe.
Woodruff replaces Tony Foster, who decided not to run for office, the tribe said.
“On behalf of the current tribal council, I’d like to thank former Chairman Tony Foster for his years of service to the Quileute people,” Woodruff said in a prepared statement.
Naomi Jacobson is vice chairwoman. Cathy Salazar is secretary. Crystal Lyons is treasurer. Justin “Rio” Jaime is member-at-large.
“We would like to thank the community for the continued support,” the council said in a combined statement.
“This council looks forward to working together as a team and taking into consideration the concerns and ideas from our tribal members.”
