FORKS – After seeing the price tag, the Quillayute Valley School District officials have decided to hold off on a bond election originally planned for February.
The architect’s estimate a new high school and improvements to the middle school totaled about $16.5 million, Superintendent Diana Reaume said.
That’s too much.
“We want to look at different ways we can utilize existing buildings and make a better plan,” she said.
The measure could reach the ballot in May or November if plans can be revamped in time, Reaume said.
Meetings with the public will be scheduled for January or February.
The School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the high school auto tech meeting room on Jan. 8 and Jan. 22.
