PORT ANGELES — Race Street is closed from Lauridsen Boulevard to Park Avenue to allow for the installation of a new 10-inch waterline.
Traffic is being detoured onto Washington Street during the installation, which began earlier this week.
The road closure is expected to last for two more weeks but is subject to change based on weather and the pace of construction.
The new waterline is part of the Race Street improvement project.
The $4.9 million project will install a shared-use trail for non-motorists, enhancements for pedestrian safety, water main replacement and the addition of stormwater infrastructure.
Updated closure information is posted at www.cityofpa.us under “News & Announcements.”
