PORT ANGELES — Race Street will be closed between Eighth and 10th streets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Traffic will be detoured onto Washington Street during the closure; local access will be provided for residents, according to Port Angeles city officials.
Road closures are subject to change based on the pace of construction. Updated closure information is posted at www.cityofpa.us under “News & Announcements.”
The closure is part of the Race Street improvement project. The $4.9 million project will install a shared-use trail for non-motorists, enhancements for pedestrian safety, water main replacement and the addition of stormwater infrastructure.
