Lawmaker suffers back, neck pain
OLYMPIA — State Rep. Lynn Kessler walked away from an automobile collision last week with minor whiplash pain, her aides said.
The House Majority Leader was driving from Olympia south on Interstate 5 when she slowed for sluggish traffic and was rear-ended by the driver following her, they said.
Although her car had to be towed away, Kessler initially felt fine, said Patsy Feeley, her Port Angeles office manager.
She was able to keep her immediate appointments, but later suffered back and neck pain, Feeley said.
“Aleve’s been taking care of it,” Je-Anne Rogers, her Olympia assistant, said Tuesday.
Details of the collision, which was investigated by the State Patrol, were not available Tuesday.
Kessler, D-Hoquiam, is one of three legislators who represents Clallam, Jefferson and a portion of Gray’s Harbor counties in the 24th legislative district.
The other two are Kevin Van De Wege, D-Sequim, and Sen. Jim Hargrove, D-Hoquiam.
