SEATTLE — Seattle Mariners’ right-hander Felix Hernandez has agreed to a multi-year contract, according to a report by ESPN.com at http://tinyurl.com/ykqd52b .
The Web site cited a source with direct knowledge of the talks, and did not specify the dollar amount and duration of the contract.
During the 2009 season, Hernandez set career highs in almost every category including wins, strikeouts, innings pitched and earned run average.
“King Felix” finished the season 19-5 with a 2.49 ERA and 217 strikeouts. He finished in the AL Cy Young Award behind Zack Greinke.
