Republic of Korea presents nine peace medals to Clallam County veterans

Republic of Korea Consul General Lee Hyung-jong presented nine Ambassador of Peace medals for Clallam County veterans of the Korean War at a ceremony Dec. 9 at the Black Bear Diner in Sequim. The medals were presented to Douglas Tissot, Jack Hughes, Larry Fredrickson, Carlton Posey, James Read, Bill LaRue, Joseph Hawkins, Bill Riedel and Donald Springer. Seven of the veterans were on hand to receive the medals. Two were presented to surviving family members.
