AGNEW — A 41-year-old man was treated and discharged from Olympic Medical Center earlier this week after being struck in the head by a burglar.
Brian Dumas, who was recovering from hip surgery and using crutches, returned to his home on Finn Hall Road at about 1 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by the intruder, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.
Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron said he was likely punched.
The masked man dropped items, including jewelry, as he fled from the home.
Some items, including an undetermined amount of cash, were found missing.
Port Angeles police responded with a police dog, but the track was lost.
The assailant is described as about 6 feet tall and wearing an “orangish” coat, possibly a Carhartt brand.
Anyone with information on the burglary can phone the Sheriff’s Office at 360-417-2459.
