PORT ANGELES — Gary Carl Borneman is still considering a plea offer in a murder-kidnapping case.
A change-of-plea hearing was continued Wednesday for the second time in as many days.
Defense attorney John Hayden said he met with Borneman to discuss an offer from the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and made a motion to set the matter over.
Superior Court Judge Christopher Melly scheduled a review hearing for March 5.
Borneman has pleaded not guilty to first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree kidnapping domestic violence, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful imprisonment domestic violence, violation of a domestic violence protection order and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police alleged that Borneman kidnapped Rebecca Messinger and shot Jerry Howell to death at a Port Angeles residence Oct. 7.
The state has offered to dismiss firearm and domestic violence enhancements in exchange for a guilty plea to amended charges.
