PORT ANGELES — Travelers can expect single-lane closures in both directions of U.S. Highway 101 today through Thursday as the state Department of Transportation repaints lines on the roadway.
Road striping will take place between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. between milepost 270 in Sequim and milepost 247 in Port Angeles. Crews began work in Sequim today and will move north each day toward downtown Port Angeles until work is complete.
Travelers using both directions of Highway 101 should plan for extra travel time and congestion approaching a slow-moving paint truck. Drivers are reminded not to cross newly painted lines on the roadway.
The work is taking place between morning and afternoon commute hours when driver behavior is generally safer and crews and work zone signs are more easily seen, the Department of Transportation said in a news release.
