OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK — Visitors to Olympic National Park are reminded that Hurricane Ridge Road is closed Mondays through Thursdays.
The closure will be in effect through Oct. 16.
The road is open Fridays through Sundays during this time.
Weekend drivers might encounter delays of up to 40 to 50 minutes each way.
Flaggers and pilot cars will guide drivers through the active construction areas, and temporary traffic signs and signals are installed for weekend and evening travel.
Bicycles are not permitted on the road during the construction project.
The closure is needed for a $12 million road rehabilitation project.
When complete, the road will be resurfaced, along with the Hurricane Ridge parking lot and numerous pullouts and parking areas along the road.
