PORT ANGELES — A landslide has closed the Spruce Railroad Trail, Olympic National Park announced late Friday afternoon.
Significant rockfall and debris cover the trail near the Daley-Rankin Tunnel, park officials said in a press release.
The tunnel portal structure and bridge are also damaged, officials said in the release.
“Closing the entire trail is necessary to protect visitor safety and allow park crews to remove debris, assess trail damage, and make plans for repairs,” the press release said.
The trail will be closed until further notice.
Closure updates will be posted on Olympic National Park’s website at https://www.nps.gov/olym/planyourvisit/conditions.htm.
