SHELTON — Mary Catherine White, ex-wife of Shawn Matthew Roe, said Monday through her attorney that she and her daughter had feared for their lives at Roe’s hand.
Roe, 36, is believed to have shot Forest Service Officer Kristin Fairbanks and Sequim-area retiree Richard Ziegler on Saturday before he was shot by Clallam County sheriff’s deputies Saturday night.
White, who divorced Roe in 2006, said no-contact orders and an order for protection did not deter her ex-husband from threatening her family.
“As recently as March 2007, Mr. Roe had yet to be held fully accountable for his violations, despite his arrest,” White wrote in a statement she released through her attorney, J. Anne Redford-Hall of Olympia.
