PORT TOWNSEND — A decision from the Western Washington Growth Management Hearings Board on the future of a mega-resort south of Brinnon will come in about three weeks.
That’s what the board’s chairman said after the panel on Monday heard oral arguments from Brinnon Group and Statesman Corp. attorneys on whether enough public comment took place before Statesman’s master-planned resort zoning was approved in January.
The hearings board, charged with protecting and enforcing the state Growth Management Act, heard the arguments at the Pope Marine Building downtown with the opposing Brinnon Group members listening.
Statesman Corp. proposes building Pleasant Harbor Marina and Golf Resort as a $300 million, 890-unit master-planned development on 252.6 acres of Black Point south of Brinnon and at Pleasant Harbor Marina.
Although the board has up to 60 days to issues a final order and decision, board chairman James McNamara said the three-member board was scheduled to act in three weeks.
