Safe stretching focus of Sequim wellness forum

SEQUIM — Shelley Stratton will present a free WOW! Working on Wellness Forum titled “Safe Stretching for Seniors” today.

The forum will be at 2:30 p.m. at Olympic Medical Park, 840 N. Fifth Ave. in Sequim.

Shelley Stratton, RN, CPT, has devoted most of her career to the field of health and fitness.

As a registered nurse working with post-operative orthopedic patients, she developed a strong focus on alignment, building strength and the prevention of injuries.

She likes to challenge and encourage her clients to surpass their physical and mental boundaries by integrating functional exercise and sound nutritional planning.

Stratton incorporates yoga into her clients’ exercise programs.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of the Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic, Sequim’s free clinic.

The clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members, is open to patients Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m.
