ABOARD SAN JUAN AIRLINES FLIGHT 4541 — Phillip and Veronica Riley had planned to use San Juan Airlines’ new service between Port Angeles and Seattle to escape for four days to sunny San Diego.
Instead they had the opportunity to fly the new airline round-trip, thanks to the winter weather that canceled their Wednesday morning Alaska Airlines flight out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
San Juan Airlines inaugurated flights between Seattle and Port Angeles on Wednesday, a day after Horizon Air ended flights between the two cities.
“They did a nice job. I loved the flight. It is a nice aircraft,” Veronica said of the nine-seat turboprop Cessna Caravan used by San Juan Airlines.
Her husband, Phillip, also said he was pleased with the airplane’s ride and the company’s service.
“I’ve been flying a lot, my dad was a pilot,” Phillip said, noting his bomber jacket.
