SEQUIM — Members of Clallam County Fire District No. 3 delivered more than a ton of nonperishable food to the Sequim Food Bank on Thursday after Santa’s Toy and Fire Brigade collected donations from Sequim residents.
The brigade — composed of Boy Scout Explorer Post 1003, Santa Claus and firefighters — traveled the roads of Sequim on Dec. 10-13 collecting donations of food and toys, said Patrick Young, fire department spokesman.
In addition to food, the delivery to the food bank included $320, Young said.
This is the fifth year that Santa’s Fire Brigade has traveled in an antique fire engine collecting food, toys and monetary donations.
The toys went to Sequim Community Aid.
Santa was played by Lieutenant/EMT Lawrence Bingham on Dec. 10 and Dec. 12, George Stuber on Dec. 11 and volunteer firefighter John Brygider on Dec. 13, Young said.
