FORKS — The State Patrol reports drivers suffered minor injuries in a collision involving a school bus, log truck and at least two other vehicles on U.S. Highway 101 about 10 miles south of Forks in West Jefferson County.
Trooper Krista Hedstrom said although witnesses first reported there were students on the bus, arriving troopers found there were no students on board — just the driver.
She says an icy road was a factor in the collision near the Hoh River bridge just before 7 a.m. Monday.
Hedstrom says both the bus and truck will be inspected for mechanical problems as part of the patrol’s investigation.
The highway was blocked this morning because there was no detour available.
