Planes continue to search today for a small plane that disappeared Monday on a flight from Tonasket to Sequim.
The pilot, Edward Jeffko, who was headed to Sequim, failed to arrive on schedule on Monday, the state Department of Transportation Aviation Emergency Services told The [Omak] Chronicle.
Transportation spokeswoman Ann Briggs said there has been no sign of the plane and the search covers a broad area.
Jeffko is the only person on board the single-engine plane, which was built from a kit.
The Wenatchee World said that Jeffko is a former Tonasket city councilman who has been active in the civil service board and economic development committee.
