PORT TOWNSEND — East Jefferson Fire-Rescue discontinued a search after they were unable to find anyone after a report that a person had fallen on a steep hill Wednesday.
Chief Jim Walkowski said at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday that the search had been called off and that if anyone fell, the person seemed to have been able to get back up on their own.
It was reported about an hour earlier that someone had fallen near North Beach. The search area included areas west of North Beach.
Walkowski said officials received “conflicting” information, but that it seemed someone may have tumbled about 15-20 feet on a dirt grade.
He said witnesses said that person was “walking and talking.” Search crews were unable to find the person.
