SEQUIM — A second vacancy has opened on the Sequim Planning Commission, and the city will seek applicants until Oct. 14 to fill out the remainders of the terms.
Gary Granbouche announced in a letter dated Sept. 21 that he’s decided to resign his spot on the seven-member commission, which is an advisory body appointed by the Sequim City Council.
Granbouche was appointed to the commission in January.
“I have taken on commitments of a personal nature which necessitate this decision,” he wrote in the letter to Planning Director Dennis Lefevre.
“I was flattered to be chosen for the position and have enjoyed my brief tenure.”
He also offered to continue serving until a replacement commissioner is found, expressing his “regret that [my resignation] comes on the heels of another commissioner’s resignation earlier this month.”
Forest Faulkner stepped down Sept. 12, citing health issues that made him reluctant to devote time to the Planning Commission’s work.
