North Olympic Peninsula residents shouldn’t notice a lot of security changes due to potential war with Iraq.
But they should remain vigilant for anything out of the ordinary.
“Travelers won’t notice any significant changes at all,” said Clyde Boddy, executive director of the Port of Port Angeles, which operates William R. Fairchild International Airport.
Boddy’s comments follow Monday’s terrorism security level increase to “elevated” after President Bush gave Iraqi President Saddam Hussein one last option to avoid war.
According to Boddy, the country was at the elevated level — the second highest — just a couple weeks ago, and few people noticed differences in security measures.
That being said, Boddy admitted there could be some noticeable changes as war looms.
