SEKIU — Residents say they are anxiously awaiting a public draft plan for the development of Hoko River State Park.
Washington State Parks and Recreation officials say a draft planning document will be released in late March for public review.
“We are so excited to see what they have planned for the future,” said Sekiu resident Pat Ness, owner of Chito Beach Resort.
An exact date for the release of the draft has not been determined.
People who attended a meeting hosted by parks’ officials earlier this month and those who request to be placed on a mailing list will receive a copy of the plan sometime in March, Peter Herzog, state parks’ planner, said.
The park, which includes parcels north and south of state Highway 112 near the Hoko River, is near the top of the state’s Northwest region priority list for development.
