FORKS — WorkSource Clallam County and Peninsula College will sponsor a resource event for all laid-off Interfor workers next week.
Interfor announced earlier this month that it will close its Beaver sawmill and Forks planer mill, consolidating some of those operations at the company’s Port Angeles mill. The closure affects 52 workers at the Beaver sawmill and an additional 35 at the Forks planer mill.
The resource event for the workers will provide information regarding unemployment insurance benefits, employment and training resources, and related services.
Two sessions will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, at Forks High School, 261 Spartan Ave.
The first will run from 10 a.m. to noon, and the second lasts from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
