SEQUIM — Authorities in Victoria are crediting Sequim police with a major breakthrough in an international child pornography probe.
Thanks to Sequim computer forensics investigators, Canadian officials now have new evidence that may involve a Victoria man and others in the pornography investigation, Victoria Police Sgt. David Mann said Thursday in Sequim.
Sequim investigators on Thursday turned over to Victoria police more than 8,000 hidden pornographic images and videos they recovered from a computer seized by Canadian authorities earlier this year.
The images show adults and children as young as a year old engaging in sexual acts, Sequim Reserve Officer Soeren Poulsen said.
Mann will review the images and make charging recommendations to Canadian officials, he said.
