SEQUIM — No bike or pedestrian trail on South Second Avenue will be part of the downtown revitalization plan.
Sequim City Council members reached consensus on eliminating that part of the trail idea at a workshop Wednesday.
The revitalization plan is aimed at making Sequim’s downtown core more attractive to businesses and customers by adding crosswalks, landscaping and lighting.
The majority of the $4 million estimated cost is being paid for through a revitalization grant, with the city picking up about $600,000 of the cost.
The bike/pedestrian trail, commonly referred to as “The Yellow Brick Road,” had originally been scheduled to run from Spruce Street on the north to Bell Street on the south.
