SEQUIM — City Clerk-Treasurer Lonna Muirhead will resign her post at the end of the year.
Muirhead announced her resignation plans Wednesday.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve the citizens of the city of Sequim,” she wrote in her letter of resignation.
Muirhead was appointed to the position in late 1985 when City Clerk Ruby Trotter and City Treasurer William Tuomala resigned.
“Its sad, naturally, after working with these people for 16 years,” Muirhead said during an interview Wednesday. “But it’s time for a change for both me and the city.”
