SEQUIM — Petitions on the proposed annexation of approximately 46 acres of property north of the existing city limit have been accepted by the City Council.
The action came earlier this week with the council authorizing the city’s planning staff to draft an annexation ordinance for public hearings and possible action.
City Planning Director Richard Hendricksen was also directed to notify property owners as well as state and other agencies of the petitions for annexation.
The Planning Department is expected to post and publish a notice of public hearing and environmental determination. A date for the public hearing has yet to be designated.
