SEQUIM — Candidates for two contested City Council races gathered formally for the first time Tuesday night at a forum hosted by the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Only a half-dozen members of the public attended the event, held at the Sequim Community Center.
But the four contestants — Patricia Kasovia-Schmitt and Scott Moore, running for Position No. 2; and Dick Foster and Don Hall, vying for Position No. 4 — addressed a number of questions posed by audience members and the moderator, chamber member Bertha Cooper.
Two other council seats are up for election — Position No. 3, held by appointee Ron Farquhar and Position No. 1, held by incumbent John Beitzel.
Farquhar and Beitzel are running unopposed in the Nov. 4 election, and neither attended Monday’s forum.
