SEQUIM — The City Council on Monday heard this common theme on placement of the Olympic Discovery Trail through the eastern part of the city:
Follow a straight line between points A and B, but don’t build it through my neighborhood.
After hearing testimony from 31 of more than 70 people who attended its Monday night meeting, the council put trail placement on its agenda for a July 3 study session.
Four trail route alternatives were given to the council last week by the trails advisory board.
The favored alternative sends the trail across easements between Sequim Avenue and the 400 block of East Willow Street, where it would traverse a median before moving back to the north until it reached Brown Road. The trail would go south on Brown to Washington Place and then eastward to Blake Avenue.
