SEQUIM — This could be the summer of Sequim Speaks.
That’s the working title of a new citizens’ advisory group aimed at giving the Sequim City Council an earful — from people seldom seen in the chambers.
The panel, made up of 22 residents of Sequim and environs, will form only if the City Council approves it.
The council will consider the idea, originated by member Ken Hays, during its meeting at 6 p.m. June 23 in the Transit Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
Over the past six weeks, a committee composed of city residents and others who live outside Sequim has held four meetings to decide how to structure the new citizens’ panel.
After a long discussion last Friday, the group reached consensus on a recommendation it will present to the council.
Sharon DelaBarre, a conference facilitator, donated her time to run the meetings.
