SEQUIM — He may be retiring soon from his post as J.C. Penney Co. Inc. store manager, but Ron Farquhar says he isn’t ready to give up his seat on the City Council.
Council member Patricia Kasovia-Schmitt — like Farquhar, finishing her first appointed term — is also looking to stay on.
And Don Hall, the third member appointed last year to fill a council vacancy, says he’s definitely throwing his hat into the ring.
Once John Beitzel makes his plans public, the picture will be clearer for the 2003 Sequim City Council election.
“I’m not a campaigner and I’m not a politician. In fact, I don’t like politicians,” Farquhar said after announcing his plans to run.
Candidates may file to run for elected offices beginning Monday. The deadline is Aug. 1.
