SEQUIM — As the retail development saga continues to percolate, city planning officials want to know the public’s ideas on how to regulate large-scale growth.
Members of the public are invited Tuesday night to weigh in on proposed design standards and guidelines which will shape large retail development in the future.
“We’re at the discussion phase with the Planning Commission now, and we thought this would be a good forum to hear what the public has to say on these issues,” said Planning Director Dennis Lefevre.
The informal hearing will take place at the Planning Commission’s regular bi-monthly meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Sequim Community Center, 190 W. Cedar St.
The city moved last fall to enact a uniform set of standards to guide development after it became clear Sequim was the target for several regional shopping centers.
