SEQUIM — City officials and a physician have found a solution a parking problem that came to light after construction began on the downtown revitalization project.
“(City utility superintendent) Jim Bay and Dr. (Allen) Berry worked diligently to find a solution to the problem,” said Patty Brandt, manager of Berry’s practice at Fourth Avenue and Washington Street.
Berry complained to the City Council a week ago about losing parking on the Fourth Avenue side of his building because of the revitalization design.
Brandt said the doctor and city have agreed “in concept” to a design that calls for a driveway and parking to be installed on the east side of Berry’s clinic.
The sidewalk will separate the driveway/parking area from the street.
