SEQUIM — A squawk has been stirred over excavation work near an occupied eagles’ nest on property along Priest Lane.
In this case, the mother and father bald eagle and their lone chick aren’t making the noise.
It’s coming from a group of citizens concerned about the protection of the birds and their natural habitat.
State Department of Fish and Wildlife Biologist Shelly Ament is attributing the noise to apparent breakdowns in communication between the agency she represents, the Clallam County Planning Department and the property owner.
