Sequim: Costco chairman says larger store will open in “06

SEQUIM — Costco Wholesale’s new location should be open by this time next year, but company officials on Friday still wouldn’t say exactly where the new store will be located.

“We decided some time ago we’d like to put in our state-of-the-art facility there,” Board Chairman Jeff Brotman said.

“We finally are zeroing in on a piece of property.

“It’s close by, but I can’t tell you where.”

The company’s new store will be about 148,000 square feet and requires about 15 acres, he said.

Several reports have placed the new location next to Home Depot on West Washington Street, but that location remains unconfirmed.
