SEQUIM — The City Council approved the annexation of 46 acres of land adjacent to the northern city limit.
No opposition to the annexation was voiced during a public hearing Monday night.
The council voted unanimously to waive a second reading of the ordinance, approving the annexation.
Although the council vote was unanimous, at least one member expressed some concern about the annexation.
“I will vote in favor of the annexation,” said Councilman Paul McHugh, “but I am concerned that we are creating islands of the county within the city.”
The involved property is located south of Old Olympic Highway and west of North Sequim Avenue.
