SEQUIM — It will be three more weeks before results of the investigation into a New Year’s Eve car crash that killed three people is given to prosecutors for possible charges.
Killed in the Palo Alto Road accident were Sequim High School graduates Paul Boynton 22, and Aaron Gambel and Heather Holden, both 19.
The car’s driver, 26-year-old Mary K. Kniskern, and passengers Courtney West, 20, of Port Angeles and Stuart Bury, 19, of Sequim were injured in the crash.
From the beginning of the investigation, Washington State Patrol troopers have said alcohol was a factor in the accident.
A hand-held device was used to measure Kniskern’s blood-alcohol level before she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Patrol officials have refused to release the results of that test or any others administered to Kniskern because the information is part of the investigation.
Kniskern hasn’t been charged with any crime in connection with the crash.
