SEQUIM — The blood-alcohol level of the driver whose car crashed on Palo Alto Road, killing three of five passengers on New Year’s Eve, tested more than twice the legal limit.
Mary Kristine Kniskern, 26, Sequim was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault in court documents filed by Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney Deb Kelly.
Kniskern’s blood-alcohol level was 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent, the level used to show intoxication, according to charging documents signed by Washington State Patrol Detective Steven L. Stockwell.
In addition, THC — the chemical agent in marijuana — and an antidepressant were also found, the documents said.
