SEQUIM — Fluoridation opponents finally got their say Wednesday, suggesting alternatives and pointing to studies showing fluoride doesn’t work and is harmful to the environment.
Forty people, many of them wearing light blue buttons proclaiming themselves members of Citizens for Safe Drinking Water, clapped for each of the anti-fluoridation speakers during Wednesday’s City Council work session.
The board did not take any action on the presentations, the first fluoridation opponents had been allowed to make to the City Council.
Previously, fluoridation supporters were allowed to address the board.
Supporters were not allowed to present their side again Wednesday.
The council hasn’t set a date for making a decision on fluoridating city water.
