SEQUIM — The Sequim Open Aire Market will hold a live and silent auction Saturday as part of its fifth-annual fund-raiser.
Guided fishing and hiking trips, horseback rides and vendors’ goods such as American Indian baskets and dried floral arrangements will be up for grabs at the event.
A silent auction will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a live auction from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The market is located on Cedar Street between North Sequim Avenue and Second Street.
Money from the auction will go toward covering expenses for the market, which run about $12,000 annually, and include for part-time employees, advertising, costs to rent street space and a nearby storage area, entertainment and insurance, board chairman Bob Bowman said.
Organizers hope to raise $2,000 at the event, he said.
