SEQUIM – It’s to be one of Sequim’s bigger bashes, so the football field has been deemed the venue.
Due to much phone-calling, at least one PowerPoint show and several passionate presentations, Sequim High School’s June 8 graduation ceremonies will be held outdoors, not inside the gymnasium as in previous years.
On the ball field off Fir Street west of the high school, the audience’s size will be practically unlimited, said Sequim School District Superintendent Garn Christensen.
If the ceremonies were held inside the gym, each graduating student would be given only five tickets to distribute among family members and friends.
Earlier this spring, Christensen announced that the graduation would be held indoors, and the overflow crowd seated in an auxiliary gym where the audience would watch a video feed of the ceremonies.
