SEQUIM — City Councilman John Beitzel on Wednesday became the fourth council member to announce plans to seek another term.
Beitzel’s announcement means that all four council members whose terms expire at the end of this year will run again for office.
But unlike his three colleagues who will face election, Beitzel has served a full four-year term and will seek re-election. He won a council seat in 1999 after running unopposed.
Last year, Don Hall, Ron Farquhar and Patricia Kasovia-Schmitt were appointed to fill vacancies left after a series of council resignations.
All three have declared their candidacies to run for a four-year term.
