SEQUIM — Walt Schubert will seek re-election to the City Council.
Schubert, who is wrapping up a two-year term in office, announced his candidacy earlier this week.
“We now have a City Council with respect for each other and the best interest of the city at heart,” he said. “I want to continue to be a part of this group to make our city an even better place for all of us to live and work.”
Schubert, 61, said he intends to make his campaign official Monday when he files for a four-year term in council position No. 2.
Sequim has three openings on the City Council. Two are currently held by appointees who stepped in after their predecessors resigned early this year.
