SEQUIM — The sun shone brightly over “A Berry Sunny Sequim” Saturday afternoon as the city’s 108th Irrigation Festival Grand Parade glided down Washington Street.
“This is like what you wait for the whole time,” 2003 Irrigation Queen Leah Stites, 17, said as she and her royal court, all dressed in flowing gowns, perched on their float before the parade began.
“I’m completely beside myself.”
Thousands of people donned their summer clothes and anchored their plastic chairs along the mile-long parade route through downtown Sequim, some arriving two hours early to claim a good spot.
