SEQUIM — One girl will be crowned queen while three others will become princesses during the Sequim Irrigation Royalty Pageant on Saturday.
The pageant will be at 7 p.m. at the Sequim High School Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
The candidates for the 2010 Irrigation Festival royalty are Sierra Sheldon, 16, daughter of Tara and Tony Bush; Sarah Berkes, 17, daughter of Ken and Paula Berkes; Ashley Fuentes, 18, daughter of Milton and Mary Fuentes; and Fallon Schneider, 16, daughter of Kim Schneider.
The pageant, which features speeches, songs and comedy among the four candidates, is one of the first of many events in the 115th annual Irrigation Festival, which culminates in the Grand Parade through downtown Sequim on May 8.
Admission at the door will be $5. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Solar City, 135 W. Washington St. in Sequim, and Kitsap Bank at 1320 W. Washington St. and 990 E. Washington St.
The members of the Royal Court receive scholarships — $1,000 for the queen and $750 for each princess.
