The intoxicating aroma of lavender will greet thousands of visitors in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley this weekend at the fifth annual Celebrate Lavender Festival.
About 12,000 people attended last year’s festival, and even larger crowds are expected for this year’s lavender farm tours, street fair and other activities Saturday and Sunday.
“We’re anticipating more than 4,000 people will visit our farm alone,” said Jennifer Taylor of Lost Mountain Lavender Farm.
“We need a couple of more hot days to really make it bloom, but the lavender is extremely lovely this year.”
Co-owned by Dennis and Jennifer Taylor, Lost Mountain is one of eight sites on the traditional tour of farms.
Other farms on the tour include Cedarbrook Herb, Jardin du Soleil, Olympic, Purple Haze, Sequim Valley Ranch, Willow and The Cutting Garden.
